Regarding the game’s performance, its prologue scene was running with 50fps on our NVIDIA RTX 4090. However, there are a few noticeable traversal stutters. When you initially launch it, the game will build its shaders. Now the good news here is that Dead Space Remake does not suffer from any shader compilation stutters. However, Dead Space Remake is one of the first games in which this GPU is unable to offer constant 60fps at native 4K with Ultra Settings. And, when this GPU came out, we claimed that it was a true 4K GPU. Visceral's incompetence is what spawned the gamepad recommendation much different than the reason Capcom gave for recommending a gamepad or fight stick when Street Fighter 4 was announced for the PC.NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 is the most powerful GPU available on the market. The fact that Visceral managed to screw up this most basic and fundamental part of a shooter on the PC is absolutely unacceptable. This is evident with the zero post-release support they offered for what was very much a game-breaking problem.ĭead Space is not Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Need For Speed or another game that inheritly benefits from a gamepad more than a keyboard any kind of 3D shooter is best with a mouse. ![]() ![]() The developers recommended the gamepad because they have no idea how to develop for the PC. This was the only thing that helped reduce the problem. The lag was manageable after I mucked around with the Triple Buffering settings in the Nvidia drivers, but was still evident. ![]() ![]() With or without V-synch, the game for me was initially unplayable, especially with the gamepad. ![]()
